Mammoth Lakes Surrounding Area
There are several neighborhoods and communities located just outside the Town of Mammoth Lakes that make great places to live and play, with just a short commute to town. The Mammoth Lakes surrounding areas offer their own outdoor adventures off the beaten path, and some people prefer to live in one of these areas than directly in Mammoth.
Only about 11 miles from Mammoth Lakes as the crow flies, June Lake is a short, 20 mile drive North on US-395. June Lake offers it’s own little community with restaurants and well-known June Lake Brewing located right downtown. The June Lake Loop follows a horseshoe shaped canyon containing four lakes – June Lake, Gull Lake, Silver Lake, and Grant Lake – all surrounded by wondrous mountains.
June Lake offers summer fun at all of the surrounding lakes and alpine trails, as well as it’s own ski resort, June Mountain. Homes for sale in June Lake range from condos and A-Frames, to lakeside retreats and large luxury homes.
Crowley Lake Area
Crowley Lake is a reservoir on the upper Owens River, located about 15 miles south of Mammoth Lakes. The area surrounding Crowley Lake is a small fishing community, consisting of both full-time residents and second homeowners. Crowley Lake offers trout fishing in a beautiful location, as well as other water sports such as stand up paddle-boarding, kayaking, wakeboarding, wake surfing, water skiing, and more!
